Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what we need to analyze your swing and run your plan. You can use PureHits without an account. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use your swing videos for advertising.
This Privacy Policy explains how PureHits (“PureHits,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PureHits mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Onboarding answers. Things like your first name, birthday or age, gender, playing level, batting side, goals, and what you struggle with. We use these to build your plan and tailor your feedback.
- Swing videos. Videos you record or import from your photo library for analysis.
- Account details (optional). If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and, depending on what you share, your name and email address. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email,” we only receive a relay address.
- Support messages. Anything you send us by email.
Information created when you use the Service
- Analysis results. Swing scores, category scores, body-position measurements taken from your video, recommended drills, and your progress history.
- Device and app identifiers. A random install identifier the app creates so it can link your swings and purchases to your device without an account.
- Purchase status. Whether you have an active subscription. Payments are processed by Apple. We never see or store your card details.
- Basic technical data. App version, device model, OS version, and error logs needed to keep the Service working.
Camera, photos, microphone, and notifications
PureHits asks for camera access to record swings, photo library access to import them, and microphone access because iOS may record audio with video. If you allow notifications, we use them to remind you when it’s time to check in. You can change any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
On-device analysis
Some checks, such as the balance check, run entirely on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device body-pose technology. Videos analyzed this way are not uploaded to our servers, and their results are stored on your device.
Other analyses may require uploading your video to our servers so it can be processed. When that happens, the video is sent over an encrypted connection and stored securely.
How we use information
- To analyze your swings and generate scores, feedback, and drill recommendations.
- To build and adjust your personalized training plan.
- To save your history and show your progress over time.
- To verify your subscription and give you access to paid features.
- To send reminders you have opted into.
- To respond to support requests.
- To keep the Service secure, fix bugs, and improve the accuracy of our analysis.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We will not use your swing videos to improve our analysis models, or share them outside the service providers listed below, unless you give us permission first.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers that host and run the Service for us, bound by contracts that limit how they can use your data. These include cloud hosting and storage (Cloudflare), database hosting (Neon), sign-in (Google Firebase Authentication), subscription management (RevenueCat and Apple), and, where a feature requires it, AI providers that process video frames to generate analysis.
- Legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of PureHits, our users, or others.
- Business transfers, if PureHits is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We would notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent, for any other purpose you approve.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as you use the Service or as needed to provide it. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymize it within 30 days, unless we must keep some of it to meet legal obligations. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- You can use PureHits without creating an account.
- You can revoke camera, photo, microphone, and notification access in iOS Settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by emailing support@purehits.app.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Depending on where you live (for example, California, the EU, or the UK), you may have more rights under local law, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for using any of these rights.
Children and young players
Many hitters who use PureHits are young players. PureHits is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should only use the Service with a parent or guardian who sets it up and supervises its use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information without your consent, contact us at support@purehits.app and we will delete it.
If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, please review this policy with a parent or guardian.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on stored data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
PureHits is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process data in other countries. When we transfer information across borders, we take steps to protect it as required by applicable law.
This website
This website does not require an account and does not use advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may log basic request information such as IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and working.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the app or by updating the date at the top of this page before the changes take effect.
